FAQ's

What is "DIBS"?

DIBS is the online system TAA uses to organize, schedule and manage our parent volunteers. All volunteer shift details can be found in DIBS. Instructions on how to set up a DIBS account and which shifts are/will be available can be found at the bottom of the main VOLUNTEER page; click on "Available DIBS Shifts Here!"

I cannot seem to access DIBS. What should I do?

First, please try again on a different device.
If DIBS shows a message advising that access is invalid click on the DIBS tab above that message, this may fix the issue despite the initial message.

Will I be cooking during a concession shift?

No. Volunteers take orders, handle payment, make coffee, call out orders that are ready etc. There are dedicated cooks at each concession location.

Are there any volunteer shifts available that do not involve working in the concession?

Yes. Help is needed at the Meet and Greet on April 5th, as well as Picture Day at the end of April, the T-Ball Jamboree in June, and help with general maintenance jobs at Luxton.

What happens if I accidentally put my name in the box where the player's name should go?

Not a problem. Email the Volunteer Coordinator at smacausland@gmail.com and they will make sure it's recorded correctly on the spreadsheet.

I still can't access DIBS and have tried eight devices, what now?

Email the Volunteer Coordinator at smacausland@gmail.com and the coordinator will confirm a time and place that works.

I like to procrastinate. Is there any kind of volunteer shift for me?

Yes! As part of TAA's arrangement to use the field at Luxton, TAA is obligated to provide volunteers to help at the Fall Fair (every September), which is a very long way away...

What about helping to prepare the field before a game or helping rake afterwards? Does that count towards volunteer hours?

No. Field prep and cleanup is something teams sort out themselves and does not count towards TAA volunteer hours/deposit.

When will more DIBS shifts be posted?

Soon. TAA tries to have shifts posted about a month ahead of time.

Coordinating volunteers is kind of my jam, can I do that next year?

Yes! For questions about the Volunteer Coordinator position or about joining Triangle's Board in another capacity, please don't hesitate to reach out to triangleaainfo@gmail.com. It's a great group of people and we're always looking for people whose talents and effort can be used to make baseball in the Westshore even better.
